Baby Boy Banner

There is nothing like a new baby to put a smile on my face.  Making this is a "Baby" banner surely did that.  I love the combination of soft blues and greens.

I also found this great blue alphabet paper that makes a perfect backdrop for this onesie.

I hope this inspires you in making your own banner, but if would like me to make you a baby shower banner I would love to!  Just contact me or check out my Etsy Store, Melanie Makes.

Missed my "It's a Girl!" banner, click here.

"It's a Girl" Banner

I wanted to share with you one of my most recent projects for a neighbor.  She was having a baby shower and asked if I would make a "It's a Girl!" banner for her.  It had been a while since I made one so I had to dust off some cobwebs from my Cricut.  Poor machine has been neglected since our move, but I hope to get it back up and running.

It certainly was a fun change of pace to make this pink colorful banner.  I used my Gypsy to size the scallops, text and baby onesie.

Of course to finish it off I added some coordinating ribbons between the letters.

Happy Crafting,

Melanie

Welcoming William - Photo Album Cover

My parents love to have a photo album or brag book of their grand children.  Since our third son was born in September, I thought I would start one as a Christmas gift for my parents.  I send photos of the boys and they place them in the albums as they get them.  The older boys love to look at them when we visit.

For this task, I was determined to try my hand and using My Digital Studio (MDS2).  This "Welcome Home"  will be at the front of the album.  To create this I used the "Oh Baby" photo book template from Stampin Up.

I can't wait to use it more create layouts for my sons.  I sure have so much more to explore with the software, but enjoyed making this.

Happy Crafting,
Melanie

Baby Thank You Notes

Sorry it has been so long since my last post, but we have been going through many life changes over the past several months.  We were selling our house, have moved and just had baby.  We are finally getting settled and my craft room is for the most part set up.  I really have missed crafting and can't wait to get back into the swing just in time for all the wonderful holidays coming up.

First I wanted to introduce our latest addition to our family, this is William.  He was born on September 10th.  He is 2 weeks old now and time seems to be going by so fast.  It is so hard to believe that I am a mom to three wonderful & wacky boys.

Our friends have been helpful with chauffeuring my eldest to school, bringing meals and gifts of congratulations.  I wanted to send thank you notes to them for all the sweets gestures.

Using the Stampin Up's "Slice of Life" stamp set, the cuttlebug "Seeign Spots" and "Argyle" embossing folders and some punches.  Here is what I came up with:

Argyle Embossing Folder
Seeing Spots Embossing Folder
Stampin Up's "Slice of Life"

Have a wonderful week and happy crafting,

Melanie

Welcome Baby

Today's post is actually a card that I included with a baby gift to my cousin.  I made her diaper burp cloths with a fabric center panel, click here to see.

This card is simple in its design and was made with the"Slice of Life" hostess stamp set from Stampin Up.  I have used this several times and love to practice my coloring techniques with them.  I am still a beginner at that:)

Merry Christmas to all,

Melanie

Baby Burp Cloths

Hi everyone,
I hope this finds you well, we are busy preparing for Thanksgiving family reunion.  I really enjoy our time with family, it is a great time of year!

I thought I would share a quick project that I made for one of my cousin's that just had a baby girl.  I wanted to give them a little something so I made these diaper burp cloths with fabric center panel.  These were my favorite when I had my little ones, they are super absorbent so that makes them great for so many things.

Have a safe happy Thanksgiving!

It's All about Baby!

This post is all about Babies, I am going to a friend's baby shower this weekend and it put me in that kind of mood.  I really love making banners, since they go together really quickly.

I used the same template I created for my parent's anniversary banner.  This scallop shape is really versatile.  I created it using my Gypsy.  In making the banner, I used the Accent Essentials, B is for Boy and the Songbird cartridges.

I hope this inspires some banner making.

All specialty paper is from My Mind's Eye, "Where the Heart is" paper pack.

Sew, Sew and more Sewing

Wow, it has been a good while since my last post.  I have been super busy with some sewing orders for friends as well as setting up my Etsy store and a Facebook page for Melanie Makes.  Please feel free to come see my items on Etsy or like me on Facebook.  I would be happy to sew or craft something for you.  It helps fund all my paper adventures.

"Melanie Makes" on Facebook

Now onto my most recent sewing project:
This sewing project was for my friend who is throwing a baby shower.  These cloth diaper burp cloths and taggy blanket are done in a red and white color scheme.  I think they really turned out sharp and hope the mom to be will enjoy them as well.

Now that I have wrapped up my sewing projects I have been working hard on Tyler's 4th Birthday invitations and decorations.  I can't wait to share soon.
