Hello fellow crafters and friends,
This will be our family’s fourth year participating in the Great Strides walk that benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We take pride in doing the walk because someone special to our family has been diagnosed with this fatal disease. For those of you who know our family well, you will recall that there were about ten women in our neighborhood that were pregnant all at the same time and all our babies were born within 6 months of each other. My son, Tyler, is the youngest of the group. One of the first born of the group is Olivia Jones or as we call her "Livi". It is truly hard to believe that our children our now four, it has been truly wonderful to watch our children grow and play. When Livi was diagnosed with this disease shortly after her first birthday, it hit us all very hard. I prayed for guidance on how I could help their family. Finally after much thought the best way I could help is to get involved and raise money to find a cure. Please help Livi have more tomorrows with her family and our son Tyler.
GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the Gateway Village Uptown on May 21, 2011. Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $150 by sponsoring me. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education. Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!

Teacher Appreciation Card
To go along with our Teacher Appreciation gift to Mrs. Heather, I made this simple card. Nothing to fancy since I had only a little time to make it, but I am pleased with it.
I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the Apple and the squigly line. I typed up, "Mrs. Heather my Teacher" on our computer and printed it out on white card stock.
Have a good Mother's Day weekend!

Teacher Appreciation Gift
I still seem really swamped and not getting as much time to craft and blog as I would like. I did however just finish this for Tyler's teacher appreciation gifts. We did a similar project a Stamp Club class that I am taking with Angie Guy, a "Stampin Up" representative. If any of my local friends want to come with me sometime just let me know.
As for the project, I took a small legal pad (8"x5") and added a decorative cover to it. On white card stock, I printed "Thanks for all that you do". This really could be changed to say anything. Then I added some decorative paper that I punched the borders. On top of that placed a flower that was cut and made with several layer from my cricut. I am pleased with the end product and will sure to be making more.
Have a good week and thanks to all our teachers out there!
