Inking It Up Crazy Design Team Post - Fly

Today's Inking It Up Crazy DT design challenge was to use a Font cartridge in our project.  I recently purchase the "Songbird" cartridge on clearance at Michael's, so I though this would be a great time to try it out.

The text that stood out to me was "Fly" and I thought it would go perfect with a kite.  The card base I used another cut from the "Songbirds" cartridge and I welded it in my Gypsy.  The kite is from the "Create a Critter" cartridge and is cut the at 2".  The clouds are from the same cartridge cut at 2", 1.5" and 1.25" then run through my Cuttlebug for some added texture.  For the details, I used my sewing machine for the stitching on the kite, used a white gel pen for the border around the card and then three white brads following the "Fly".

Be sure to stop by Inking It Up Crazy to see what the others talented ladies have come up with.

I hope everyone is having a great week - Melanie

Dump Truck Birthday Celebration Card

This is a birthday celebration card that I made for our neighbor's third birthday.  I used my new cuttlebug again for the distressed stripes backgroung.  I thought it fit perfectly with the construction theme.  The dump truck is from the "B is for Boy" cartridge.  I cut it with all its layers at 3".  I tore brown paper to create the layers of dirt.  The stamp sentiment is from the Studio G Ditto series.  I can't wait to explore this cartridge some more.  There a lots of great images for both boys and girls, so don't let the title fool you.

Have a great rest of the week!

Party Hat Celebration Birthday Card

This a recent birthday card I made using my newest crafting tool, the Cuttlebug.  The Cuttlebug is a  Embossing and Die Cutting Machine.  I just can't wait to get more cutting dies and embossingfolders for.

This "It's Time to Celebrate" was with my Cuttlebug and My Little Shoebox papers.  I received these as part of my prize for being publishing in the Cricut Birthday Ideas Magazine.  The party hat was cut and embossed from a cuttlebug Mickey Party Accessory Set that I found on clearance at AC Moore.  I first cut out the hat first and then it had an accompanying embossing folder to add the details.  I have also been using my sewing machine more for some added details.  I add a zig-zag stitch to the background striped paper.  Enjoy the week!

Happy 50th Anniversary - Part Two

We had a blast at my parent's 50th Anniversary Party!  As I mentioned in my earlier post, I made most of the decorations.  Her are some tissue pom poms that I made for the entry foyer.  I just followed the directions from Martha Stewart Crafts .  It was a pretty simple project that created great feature as people came in.

I used a smaller one along with some daisies (cut with the Cricut) that hung from the dinning room chandelier.  This is where we had the cake displayed.

Next, I made these flowers for vases all around the house.  I also used them as spacer in the Happy Anniversary banner I made.  I am sure I will be recycling them for future projects.

Lastly, I made mom and dad thank-you notes to thank all our friends and family that came to celebrate with us.

Have a great weekend,

Melanie
